Position Details:

Machine Assembler- Lombard, IL

Location : Lombard, IL

Duration : Full Time Permanent

Pay Range : $25 - $35/hr

Shift : 5 8-hour day shifts per week

Job Summary

This is a full-time, on-site Machine Assembler role based in Lombard, IL. The Machine Assembler is responsible for assembling mechanical and electromechanical components for centerless grinders and related automation equipment according to engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions. Day-to-day tasks include fitting and aligning mechanical parts, fabricating sheet metal components, installing motors, drives, and control components, performing basic wiring, and verifying proper operation of assemblies. The role involves using hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and shop equipment to ensure accurate, safe, and high-quality builds. The Machine Assembler will collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other team members to troubleshoot issues, support machine retrofits, and prepare equipment for testing and customer delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Strong attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, and ability to follow standardized processes.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift moderate weights during assembly tasks and work safely in a shop environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial fields is preferred.
  • Previous experience in machine assembly, maintenance, or manufacturing is beneficial but not strictly required for motivated candidates willing to learn.

Other Requirements:

  • You must have your own transportation
  • Be eligible to work in the United States
  • Speak/read English
  • Some machine service/repair related travel may be required.

Typical Hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Overtime hours as needed on weekdays and also weekends to complete urgent jobs.
