Job Description
Summary
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to build a brand-new fabricator sales channel for one of the Bay Area's premier natural stone importers. Here's the situation. We have twelve reps, and all twelve sell to architects and designers. Not one of them sells to fabricators. That's the gap, and that's the person we're bringing in. We're sitting on a lot of quality material that we want to move, and we're not shy about it.

We need someone who already has real relationships with fabricators around the Bay, someone who looks at a yard full of good stone at a fair price and sees a lot of sales waiting to happen. It's pretty simple. Build the channel, own the relationships, and if it works, grow it into a territory with a team behind it. What you'll do
Build and work a target list of fabricators across the Greater Bay Area, out to about two hours in any direction. We deliver on our own trucks and third-party carriers. Hunt. Shop visits, cold outreach, appointments, follow-ups.

True demand generation, not order-taking. Move the aged and clearance inventory first, then build recurring demand for new natural stone, quartz and porcelain slabs. Hear "you guys are too expensive," and have a good answer ready. Be in the San Carlos yard once a week with your hands on the slabs, so you know exactly what you're selling. Keep real account profiles. You're measured on call volume, quotes, sales orders and invoiced sales.

What success looks like
~90 days:
Trained (up to two weeks in Chicago with our sister team, less if you know the material already), target list built, first orders landing against aged material.
~6 months:
$500K sold.
~12 months:
$1M sold, with repeat accounts buying new material too.
~ Year two:
$400K to $500K a month. Requirements
Existing fabricator relationships in the Greater Bay Area. They already know your name. Real material knowledge: natural stone, quartz, porcelain and tile. You know a fissure from a crack. A face-to-face hunter who'd rather be in a shop than at a desk.

Organized enough to keep detailed account profiles without being chased. Self-directed, fine with daily local travel, and within about 90 minutes of San Carlos. Driven, resilient, resourceful, reliable, trustworthy. You own the work. Preferences
Time inside a fab shop, outside sales experience, or Spanish and English. Cabinetry, flooring or other spec-sold products, if the drive is there. The details
Comp:
Base salary plus commission. Do this job well and you'll earn $120K to $150K+ in year one with no cap on commission and a huge market to build on moving forward.

Location

San Carlos, CA, with a new facility opening next spring. Field-based across the Greater Bay Area.
