Mainframe Operator

Location: Waterford, MI Salary: $35.00 USD Hourly - $42.00 USD Hourly Description:
Role Overview:

• Experience: Intermediate
• Start Date: 9/21/26
• Duration: Continuous
• Location: 100% onsite - no WFH
• Schedule: Candidates may be required to work days, afternoons, midnights, and holidays.

Primary Responsibilities

This is essentially a Computer Operations / IT Operations role with hands-on Mainframe responsibilities.

The individual will primarily be responsible for:

• Incident ticketing and management
• Monitoring network and server infrastructure
• Report distribution
• Service Desk support
• Monitoring, documenting, triaging, and escalating incidents
• Submitting requests to run Mainframe batch jobs
• Running/submitting CICS commands for printing and reviewing reports

KEY MUST-HAVES

1. ServiceNow experience - MUST HAVE
Candidates should have hands-on experience using ServiceNow, particularly in an IT operations, incident management, or Service Desk environment.

2. Hands-on IBM Mainframe experience - MUST HAVE
They are looking for operational Mainframe experience rather than Mainframe development. Relevant experience could include:

• Computer/Mainframe Operations
• Batch job submission
• CICS commands
• Console operations
• Report processing
• Mainframe monitoring

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• What's Up Gold
• Pingdom
• PRTG
• Network/server infrastructure monitoring
• Microsoft Teams
• JCL / batch processing

The manager prefers candidates with the listed monitoring tools, but comparable enterprise monitoring experience may still be worth considering.

Best profile: Computer/IT Operations professional with hands-on IBM Mainframe experience, ServiceNow, infrastructure monitoring, and experience working in a 24/7 or shift-based environment.
