Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support its continued expansion within a global engineering environment. Reporting to the Design Manager, the successful candidate will design and develop customer-focused products, working closely with cross-functional teams and contributing to continuous improvement.

Based in Craigavon, this is a permanent opportunity offering the chance to work within an established engineering operation. The role provides exposure to varied design activities, including CAD modelling, material selection, design optimisation and technical documentation.

The Role:

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and develop innovative, manufacturable product designs.
* Use CAD software, including SolidWorks, to create detailed three dimensional models and engineering drawings.
* Optimise designs for cost effectiveness, manufacturability and efficiency while maintaining product integrity.
* Work with Senior Design Engineers to select appropriate materials, considering cost and performance.
* Implement quality control measures to ensure designs meet specifications and industry standards.
* Produce design documentation, including bills of materials and design reports.

The Person:

* Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
* At least three years of experience in a similar design engineering role.
* Experience using SolidWorks.
* (Suggestion: Strong communication and collaborative problem solving skills.)
