AV Engineer

AV Engineer Residential AV / SmartHome Automation Location: London (On-Site & Client-Facing) Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum About the Role We are looking for an experienced AV Engineer to join our growing Residential AV team.

This is a client-facing position responsible for the installation, configuration, commissioning, and support of high-end residential audio-visual and smart home systems across London and the surrounding areas.

The successful candidate will be professional, well-presented, and confident working directly with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders. Experience within the residential AV sector is essential.

Key Responsibilities Install and configure residential AV and home automation systems.<br />Work with industry-leading brands including Crestron, Control4, Lutron, KNX, and Savant.<br />Test, troubleshoot, and commission systems to ensure reliable performance.<br />Provide on-site technical support and resolve installation issues efficiently.<br />Work closely with project managers, electricians, and other trades on-site.<br />Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.<br />Build positive client relationships through clear communication and professional service.<br />Complete installation and service documentation where required.<br />Follow all health and safety procedures on-site.

Requirements Previous experience as an AV Installer or AV Engineer within the Residential AV sector.<br />Proven experience or strong working knowledge of installing and configuring systems from leading manufacturers such as Crestron, Control4, Lutron, KNX, and Savant.<br />Experience installing and configuring displays, sound systems, lighting control, automation, and networking equipment.<br />Good understanding of networking fundamentals and connected home technologies.<br />Excellent communication and customer service skills.<br />Professional and confident in client-facing environments.<br />Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.<br />Full UK driving licence preferred.<br />Willingness to travel to client sites across London and surrounding areas.<br />Flexibility to work outside standard hours when projects require.

Desirable Skills ECS Card or relevant industry certification.<br />Experience working in high-end residential properties.<br />Knowledge of rack building, cable management, and system documentation.<br />Experience commissioning smart home and integrated control systems.
