Job Title: Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, optimize, and secure enterprise Oracle database environments. The candidate will be responsible for database installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, troubleshooting, high availability, and disaster recovery.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience with Oracle Database technologies, SQL, PL/SQL, RAC, Data Guard, and database performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle databases.

  2. Manage Oracle database environments across development, testing, and production.

  3. Perform database performance tuning, SQL tuning, and query optimization.

  4. Monitor database health, availability, and performance.

  5. Implement backup and recovery strategies using RMAN.

  6. Configure and maintain Oracle RAC and Data Guard environments.

  7. Perform database patching, upgrades, and migrations.

  8. Troubleshoot database issues, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents.

  9. Manage database security, user accounts, roles, and permissions.

  10. Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

  11. Monitor database storage, tablespaces, indexes, and capacity planning.

  12. Automate routine database administration tasks using shell scripting and SQL scripts.

  13. Collaborate with application developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.

  14. Maintain database documentation and operational procedures.

Required Technical Skills

  • Oracle Database 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c, and 21c.

  • Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.

  • Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters).

  • Oracle Data Guard.

  • RMAN Backup and Recovery.

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).

  • Database Performance Tuning.

  • SQL Query Optimization.

  • Database Installation and Configuration.

  • Database Patching and Upgrades.

  • Database Migration and Replication.

  • Linux / Unix Operating Systems.

  • Shell Scripting (Bash / KSH).

  • Database Security and Access Management.

Preferred Skills

  • Oracle GoldenGate.

  • Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Management).

  • Oracle Exadata.

  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

  • AWS or Azure Database Services.

  • PostgreSQL or SQL Server knowledge.

  • Python or automation scripting.

  • ITIL and production support experience.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Relevant Oracle certifications are preferred.

Experience Required

  • 12–15+ years of experience in Oracle Database Administration.

  • Strong experience supporting large-scale enterprise databases.

  • Experience in 24/7 production support environments.

  • Proven experience in database performance tuning and disaster recovery.
