TCI Maintenance is hiring for a Body Shop Technician in our busy fleet shop!

Shift: Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm
Pay: $22 - $30.00 depending on experience

TCI Maintenance is seeking a highly motivated and qualified applicant to fill the position of Body Shop Technician 1 at our Fontana, California location.

Position Overview

The Technician Body Shop Level 1 will, under supervision, perform minor truck and trailer component repair or replacement.Assist Technician 3 and 4 in the removal, replacement, and repair of major components.

Core Roles and Responsibilities as follows:

• Understand procedures and repairs such as Cab/Sheet Metal Repair.

• Use PPE required for job

• Ability to teardown / inspect vehicle and give accurate list of parts needed to complete repairs in a timely manner.

• Composite Repair/Bonding.

• Basic mechanical skills are needed for collision related mechanical parts replacement.

• Sheet metal body work Understand types of body fillers used and for what application.

• Surface Preparation

• Fiberglass Repair and Box Repair/Replacement/refinishing

• Painting/Mixing/Tinting/Blending.

• Position requires a valid driver license issued by the state in which the employee is domiciled and must be approved as fit to drive and insurable by the company’s insurance carrier.

• Position requires employees to safely operate TCI owned vehicles both on and off highways to test and troubleshoot for mechanical issues, hazards, and failures.

• Other duties as instructed by Supervisor

We measure our body shop technicians on their efficiency to complete quality repairs in time standards.
All employees required to follow OSHA Federal,State,Local regulatory and environmental laws.

Job Qualifications:

• Body Shop Technician 2-5 years of experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

• Vocational/technical school preferred

• Specialized training and experience in the repair/refinish of all series of truck and trailer preferred

• Experience in the use of all tools of trade (upto and including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools) preferred/not required

• Valid Drivers license required, CDL with brake endorsements preferred or have the ability to obtain

• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
