Job Description

A leading private credit investment firm is looking for a Private Credit Associate to join the team in New York, NY. The team focuses on providing customized financing solutions to middle market companies across a broad range of industries, including sponsored and non-sponsored transactions. This is an opportunity to work as a key member of a lean, collaborative investment team with significant exposure to deal execution, underwriting, portfolio management, and investment committee processes.



Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and evaluate prospective investment opportunities across senior secured, unitranche, second lien, and special situations transactions.
  • Perform detailed financial modeling, credit analysis, industry research, and due diligence.
  • Assist in structuring and negotiating debt investments alongside senior investment professionals.
  • Prepare investment memoranda and present findings to the investment committee.
  • Monitor existing portfolio investments, including performance tracking, covenant compliance, and ongoing credit reviews.
  • Participate in management meetings, lender calls, and third-party diligence discussions.
  • Work closely with sponsors, company management teams, legal counsel, and advisors throughout the transaction lifecycle.


Qualifications

  • 2-5+ years of relevant experience within leveraged finance, direct lending, private credit, restructuring, investment banking, or credit investing.
  • Strong financial modeling and credit underwriting capabilities.
  • Experience analyzing middle market companies and leveraged capital structures.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced transaction environment.
  • Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
