Job Description

A leading alternative investment manager with ~$15B AUM is seeking a Private Credit Associate to join its Direct Lending team in New York, NY. With a broad mandate across sponsor and non-sponsored transactions, the platform provides flexible capital solutions to lower middle‑market companies across industries while delivering attractive risk-adjusted returns for investors.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a well-established platform while maintaining exposure to a lean deal team structure. The position provides meaningful responsibility across the full investment lifecycle, direct interaction with senior leadership, and the ability to contribute to investment outcomes across a diverse portfolio of transactions.

The Associate will take on a broad set of responsibilities spanning underwriting, execution, and portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite and execute new direct lending investments across a variety of industries and transaction types
  • Build detailed LBO and cash flow models to assess credit risk and support structuring decisions
  • Lead diligence processes, including financial analysis, industry research, and management evaluation
  • Prepare investment memoranda and present findings to the investment committee
  • Support deal execution from initial screening through closing
  • Review and help negotiate term sheets and credit documentation alongside internal stakeholders and external counsel
  • Monitor portfolio investments and support ongoing portfolio management initiatives

Qualifications:

  • 2-5+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, private credit, or principal investing
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skill set, with experience evaluating credit investments
  • Clear, concise investment writing and communication abilities
  • Demonstrated interest in direct lending and middle-market investing
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with meaningful deal exposure
