The Opportunity

Wicker Hamilton is exclusively representing a leading international law firm seeking an experienced Project Finance & Development Associate to join its London practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to work on sophisticated projects involving complex development arrangements, construction contracts and associated financing structures.

The successful candidate will join a highly regarded team advising on major domestic and international projects, with the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility and develop specialist expertise.

Key Responsibilities

The role will involve advising on a range of project development and financing matters, including:

Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex project development and construction agreements.

Advising on contractual frameworks, commercial risk allocation and project structuring.

Supporting the development, financing and delivery of major projects.

Advising on construction-related contractual arrangements and associated project documentation.

Working on complex, multi-party transactions involving developers, sponsors, lenders and other stakeholders.

Collaborating with colleagues across finance, construction and other transactional disciplines.

Managing transaction processes and developing direct client relationships.

Candidate Requirements

We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who demonstrate:

Approximately 4–6+ years' PQE , with relevant experience gained within a recognised projects, construction or finance practice.

Strong experience advising on project development and construction arrangements.

Excellent drafting, negotiation and transactional skills.

An understanding of project finance structures and the commercial considerations underpinning major projects.

Experience managing complex transactions and coordinating multiple stakeholders.

Strong commercial awareness, communication skills and attention to detail.

Candidates with a strong background in non-contentious construction and project development , complemented by project finance exposure, are particularly encouraged to apply.
