The Arc of Ocean County is seeking an experienced Group Home Manager to lead one of our Community Living residences serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position puts you at the center of the home's operations, team development, and service quality.

As the manager, you'll create the structure and environment needed for individuals to live with dignity, choice, and independence while guiding the employees who support them. From developing a strong staff team and coordinating services to maintaining compliance and managing the home's resources, your leadership will shape the experience of everyone who calls the residence home.

Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $62,753.60 annually

Lead the Residence & Its Services

Oversee the Home

  • Manage the daily functions of an assigned Community Living residence while maintaining high-quality, person-centered services.
  • Establish a welcoming home environment centered on safety, respect, independence, and individual choice.
  • Monitor program activities and practices to ensure alignment with agency policies and regulatory standards.
  • Address operational challenges promptly while maintaining consistent services and support.

Develop & Lead Your Team

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate Direct Support Professionals and supervisory employees.
  • Build staff schedules that provide appropriate coverage and respond to the needs of the program.
  • Provide regular coaching, mentorship, and opportunities for employees to strengthen their professional skills.
  • Promote a team culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and quality service.

Champion Individual Goals

  • Ensure services and supports are delivered in accordance with each individual's Individual Habilitation Plan (IHP).
  • Coordinate healthcare, behavioral services, therapeutic supports, and community-based resources.
  • Encourage individuals to pursue meaningful opportunities in employment, education, recreation, and the community.
  • Maintain effective partnerships with families, guardians, support coordinators, and interdisciplinary team members.

Protect Quality & Compliance

  • Oversee required records, medication systems, communication logs, and program reporting.
  • Maintain readiness for licensing reviews, inspections, audits, and quality assurance activities.
  • Ensure program practices meet applicable DDD, DHS, DCF, Medicaid, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate concerns, follow through on corrective actions, and identify opportunities to improve program quality.

Manage Resources & Administration

  • Oversee household budgets, purchasing, inventory, and other operating expenses.
  • Complete administrative reports, payroll approvals, and required records accurately and within established timelines.
  • Monitor available resources and promote efficient management of the residence's day-to-day operations.
  • Carry out additional leadership responsibilities that contribute to the success of Residential Services.

Required qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license with no more than five (5) motor vehicle points.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to effectively supervise employees while maintaining a person-centered approach.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and participate in an on-call rotation as required.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands associated with residential services.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
