Job Description

SEN / SEND Tutor | Reading, United Kingdom | Hybrid | £28 - £35 per hour

We are hiring for an impact-driven organisation dedicated to transforming the lives of young people with SEND and SEMH needs. We collaborate with schools and local authorities to provide tailored educational support, empowering disengaged and vulnerable learners on their education journey.

The Role

  • Provide in-person, remote, and hybrid tuition in Maths, English, or Science to young people with SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Support pupils across KS1-KS5, planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring.
  • Work with learners referred by local authorities and schools, adapting to their specific learning requirements.
  • Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment, contributing to the overall educational development of pupils.
  • Engage in reporting for lessons and providing regular feedback on student progress.

What You'll Need

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS).
  • Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience, with a strong preference for working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD.
  • Familiarity with teaching core subjects: English, Maths, and/or Science.
  • Enhanced DBS check (assistance provided if needed) and at least two professional references.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding best practices and creating a secure learning environment.
  • Must be based in the UK with the right to work.
