Job description

Job Description Job Description Position Summary
The Service Consultant is responsible for building and growing a book of business from the ground up while providing exceptional service throughout the entire customer relationship. This position combines inside sales, business development, account management, and customer service responsibilities. This is not an established book of business. The Service Consultant will not inherit a large portfolio of existing customers or significant revenue.

The expectation is to build the customer base over time through consistent prospecting, outbound sales activity, follow-up, relationship development, and hard work. The Service Consultant will research and identify prospective customers, create new business opportunities, develop relationships, and convert prospects into long-term ShuBee customers. Once a customer relationship is established, the Service Consultant will remain responsible for providing exceptional service, growing the account, retaining the customer, and identifying additional opportunities.

Building a substantial book of business takes time. Candidates should be comfortable starting with smaller accounts and individual opportunities, handling rejection, maintaining consistent activity, and staying focused on long-term growth. The book of business is something the Service Consultant builds-not something they inherit. Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Business Development & Prospecting
Build and develop a book of business from the ground up through consistent prospecting, outbound sales activity, relationship development, and follow-up.

Research industries, companies, markets, and potential customers to identify new sales opportunities. Identify and qualify prospects using company databases, internet research, business directories, marketing inquiries, trade show leads, referrals, and other available resources. Make outbound calls and send emails to prospective and existing customers. Develop creative approaches for connecting with prospects and generating new business. Follow up consistently throughout the sales process. Maintain a high level of sales activity even when immediate results are limited.

Demonstrate persistence and resilience when faced with rejection, unanswered calls, and extended sales cycles. Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate ShuBee products and solutions. Build relationships based on trust, responsiveness, product knowledge, and understanding of the customer's business. Continuously identify opportunities to increase purchasing, introduce additional products, and grow customer relationships. Account Management & Customer Service
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers within the assigned book of business.

Provide timely, professional, and responsive service by phone, email, and other communication channels. Assist customers with product questions, orders, availability, pricing, returns, exchanges, and other account needs. Investigate customer concerns and work with appropriate internal departments to reach timely resolutions. Follow through on customer requests and concerns until resolution. Maintain regular communication with customers to strengthen relationships and support retention. Proactively identify opportunities to better serve existing customers and grow accounts.

Maintain current knowledge of ShuBee products, services, promotions, policies, and processes. Deliver a consistent customer experience that reflects ShuBee's service standards and "I Can, I Will" attitude. Sales Activity & CRM Management
Accurately document prospecting activity, customer interactions, opportunities, follow-ups, and account information in the CRM system. Maintain accurate and current customer and prospect records. Manage follow-up activities and customer commitments to ensure timely completion. Maintain an organized pipeline of prospects, opportunities, and existing customers.

Monitor progress toward established sales and activity goals. Maintain and report sales activity and results as requested by management. Use customer and sales information to identify follow-up opportunities and potential account growth. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Customer Service, Marketing, Purchasing/Sourcing, Warehouse, and other departments to support customer needs. Communicate complete and accurate information when handing off requests or issues to another department. Follow up internally to ensure customer commitments are met.

Provide Marketing and management with customer feedback, market observations, product feedback, competitive information, and potential sales opportunities. Participate in team meetings, training, and other company initiatives as required. Trade Shows & Industry Engagement
Participate in trade shows, customer events, and other business development activities when requested. Represent ShuBee professionally when interacting with customers, prospects, vendors, and industry contacts. Promptly follow up on leads and opportunities generated through trade shows and company events.

Travel to trade shows, customer events, or other company events may be required when requested. This is primarily an inside sales position. The primary responsibility is building and growing the book of business through phone, email, research, and other inside sales activities. Qualifications
Previous sales, business development, account management, or customer service experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Goal-driven, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently. Strong research, prospecting, and organizational skills.

Comfortable initiating conversations and developing relationships with prospective customers. Comfortable making outbound calls and consistently pursuing new business. Persistent and resilient when faced with rejection or a slow sales cycle. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions. Ability to manage multiple customers, prospects, tasks, and follow-ups simultaneously. Comfortable working toward established sales and activity goals.

Understands that building a substantial book of business takes time, consistent effort, and long-term commitment. Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability and willingness to learn CRM, order-management, and other company systems. Knowledge of the service industry is a plus. Key Expectations for Success

Growing new customers into recurring, long-term accounts. Increasing purchasing and identifying opportunities for account growth. Providing exceptional service before, during, and after the sale.
