Job Description
Dominion House Overnight Counselor Part Time
Responsibilities of the Overnight Counselor are to provide services to adults who have a diagnosis of mental illness and living in a stabilization group home. Specific duties of the Overnight Counselor included:
- Be available to clients at all times to provide guidance and supportive counseling. Complete hourly checks to ensure clients are resting comfortably for those that are sleeping.
- Providing rehabilitation skills such as teaching of daily living skills including medication management and coping skills, crisis intervention and prevention.
- Maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients. Ensure a healthy and clean environment.
Skills/Qualifications for the Overnight Counselor include:
- Demonstrated ability in helping others.
- Six months to a year’s experience working in human services required.
- Both the ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- The ability to be organized and have good time management skills.
- College classes in human services, preferred but not required.
- Valid and insurable driver’s license preferred but not required. Agency vehicles are available for transporting clients.
Salary and Schedule of the Overnight Counselor position:
- 21 hours per week. $22.08/hour; $24,111.36/annual equivalent.

Dominion House Overnight Counselor Part Time Schedule:
Friday/Saturday - 10:30pm awake overnight until Saturday at 9:00am
Saturday/Sunday - 10:30pm awake overnight until Sunday at 9:00am
Sunday morning through Friday night - Off
