We are looking for Senior In Vivo Research Scientist for our client in Ridgefield, CT

Job Title: Senior In Vivo Research Scientist

Job Location: Ridgefield, CT

Job Type: Contract

Pay Range: $35.33hr - $40.33hr

Job Overview:

The candidate will initiate and complete routine in vivo studies, principally in the field of chronic kidney disease (CKD), in an independent and efficient manner with minimal supervision. The role involves contributing to cardio-renal-metabolic (CRM) in vivo models, performing exploratory experiments, adhering to IACUC governance, and executing data analysis to support ongoing scientific research.

Responsibilities:

  • Initiates and completes routine in vivo studies, principally in the field of chronic kidney disease (CKD), in an independent and efficient manner, with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates the ability to interpret outcome of experiments, propose appropriate follow-up, and troubleshoot effectively.
  • Demonstrates technical ability to assist in the design and execution of non-routine experiments in the context of CKD and cardio-renal-metabolic (CRM) in vivo models; conducts exploratory experiments with minimal supervision.
  • Complies with applicable regulations including IACUC governance, performing all work in a safe and compliant manner; maintains proper records in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and policies.
  • Applies basic scientific principles for study design, data analysis, and interpretation; performs literature searches and extracts relevant information from published protocols.
  • Independently operates and is responsible for lab equipment; troubleshoots effectively.
  • Communicates work effectively orally and in writing, contributes to writing protocols and procedures, and provides input for scientific reports.
  • Reports and treats data with a high level of integrity and ethics.
  • Integrates into weekend and holiday rotation at a cadence consistent with the rest of the team as needed.

Skills:

  • Applies knowledge of basic theory and scientific principles to conduct hands-on in vivo research; direct experience in rodent models of CKD is desirable.
  • Experience in routine routes of rodent dosing (i.v., i.p., p.o., s.c., and i.m.), health monitoring, and sample collection is required.
  • Compliance and communication experience with IACUC governance.
  • Proven problem-solving ability with aptitude for an agile learning style.
  • Assists in the incorporation of new technologies to enhance cardio-renal-metabolic research.
  • Proficiency with data analysis software such as Microsoft Excel and GraphPad Prism, with the expectation to develop expertise in other software as necessary.
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment.

Education:

  • Master s Degree or Bachelor s Degree with 3+ years experience in a related scientific discipline; pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO experience is highly desirable; non-PhD applicant required.
