Tier 1 Security Analyst
Location: Santa Ana, California (Onsite)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Tier 1 Security Analyst to join a Security Operations Center. This role involves monitoring, alerting, responding to, and reporting on cyber threats. The analyst will work to protect critical assets, systems, and data through proactive event monitoring and incident response. This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Proactively monitor security events for networks and systems.
• Identify, investigate, and report on potential security incidents.
• Support risk and vulnerability assessment at the network, system, and application level.
• Support the development, maintenance, and reporting of cyber metrics.
• Contribute to cyber threat intelligence development and reporting.
• Assist in the development and implementation of security controls and operational risk mitigations.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend new security tools, techniques, and technologies.
• Utilize tools and procedures to scan, identify, contain, mitigate, and remediate vulnerabilities and intrusions.
• Perform analyses to validate and recommend security requirements and safeguards.
• Conduct periodic reviews of system audits and monitor corrective actions.

Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required. Additional professional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Experience: 0 years of related experience is required.
Technical Skills:

• Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) technologies such as MS Sentinel.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C++, or JavaScript.
• Understanding of IDS/IPS, Firewalls, and Anti-VirAnti-Malware technologies.
• Familiarity with the Incident Response cycle: Identification, Protection, Detection, Response, and Recovery.
• Experience with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) systems like CrowdStrike and email security alerts in O365 and Proofpoint.

Certifications: One of the following certifications is required: Security+, GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), or a similar industry-related certification.
Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of related professional experience is preferred.

Work Environment
This is a 100% on-site role at a data center facility. The operations center runs 24/7/365, and this position will require working swing shifts, which will include weekends and some holidays. Shift rotation is to be expected based on operational needs, and reasonable notice will be provided prior to any changes.
