Java Developer with Security Clearance

Java Developer - Mid-to-Front-End Stack (DoD Secret Clearance Required) Location: Manassas, VA | Job Type: Contract About the Role Join a high-impact team building critical software solutions for defense and national security. Responsibilities - Develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications with a focus on multithreading and performance optimization - Integrate and troubleshoot software systems within Linux/Unix environments - Refactor legacy codebases to improve system reliability and scalability - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software solutions - Participate in the full software development lifecycle using Agile methodologies - Ensure software compliance with Department of Defense standards and security protocols

Required Skills and Experience - B.S. degree in Computer Science, Software/Computer/Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field - 2+ years of hands-on Java development, including multithreading - Strong Linux/Unix development, integration, and troubleshooting background - Proficient in software integration, testing, and refactoring - US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance (required)

• Experience with Bash scripting

Preferred Skills - Advanced Java multithreading proficiency - Database experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or similar - Familiarity with inter-process messaging (gRPC, Artemis)

• UI development using JavaFX or Swing - Knowledge of reactive programming (RxJava, Kotlin Coroutines, Flow)
• Performance-tuning tools (JVisualVM, JConsole, JProfiler)
• Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
