Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced DB2 Data Engineer / IBM i Developer with strong hands-on experience in DB2 for IBM i (iSeries/AS400) and SQL Stored Procedure development.

The candidate will be responsible for database application development, RPG modernization, SQL development, performance tuning, and integration with modern APIs.

Mandatory Skills:

• Expert-level SQL Stored Procedures on DB2 IBM i – MUST HAVE
• Strong hands-on experience with DB2 for IBM i / iSeries / AS400
• Experience with Dynamic SQL
• Experience converting/modernizing RPG/RPGLE/RPG Free code to SQL Stored Procedures
• Ability to read and understand RPG IV, RPGLE, RPG Free, and Embedded SQL
• Strong experience in DB2 SQL performance tuning
• Experience with logging and exception/error handling
• Experience with IBM i tools: Aldon, RDi, IBM ACS
• Experience with REST APIs and JSON
• Experience with Git/source control

Preferred Skills:

• Python
• Microservices
• VS Code
• Application modernization experience

Note: Candidates with only RPG and embedded SQL experience, without strong DB2 SQL Stored Procedure development experience, will not be considered.
