About the Opportunity
We're seeking a Machinist Level 2 to join a precision manufacturing team in Vermont. This is a hands-on machining role for someone who enjoys working with CNC and manual equipment, reading mechanical drawings, producing quality parts, and developing their machining skills in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
You'll work closely with manufacturing and mechanical engineering teams to machine, inspect, and assemble precision components while maintaining high standards for quality and safety.
What You'll Do

• Operate CNC lathes and/or machining centers based on your training and experience
• Perform manual machining using mills, lathes, grinders, drills, and other equipment
• Set up machines and make basic program edits as needed
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, including datums, GD&T, tolerances, and multiple views
• Measure and inspect machined components using appropriate gauges and inspection tools
• Perform basic assembly of mechanical components as required
• Perform routine machine maintenance
• Identify and address quality issues during the machining process
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Work with Mechanical Engineers and other manufacturing team members
• Take on additional machining and manufacturing responsibilities as needed

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of hands-on machining experience
• Experience with CNC machinery and/or manual milling machines, lathes, grinders, and drills
• Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings
• Understanding of GD&T, tolerances, datums, and drawing views
• Experience measuring and inspecting machined parts
• Basic machine setup and program editing experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to continue learning
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team
• Positive, collaborative attitude and strong attention to detail

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly stand, sit, reach, and move throughout the manufacturing area
• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach as needed
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses and hearing protection when necessary
