Job Overview:

This is a systems-focused Supply Chain and Production Planning position within a GMP environment. The successful candidate will bridge planning and production execution, working comfortably in SAP and MES while responding with organization, precision, and urgency. This key role within production requires the candidate to understand the details and intricacies of complex manufacturing processes and workflows to ensure optimized utilization. The Production Planner is responsible for organizing, managing, and scheduling workflows to ensure efficient production processes while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will begin the day with a walkthrough of the production floor to review production execution, operating rooms, and issues related to planning and scheduling. The candidate will participate in planning, scheduling, adherence, supply chain, and production meetings, reviewing and adjusting plans based on information gathered from various functions.

The candidate will work in SAP/MES to make necessary system updates, releases, and plan changes. The candidate will follow up with production toward the end of the day to ensure issues are resolved and operations are aligned, serving as a connection point between supply chain/planning and production execution.

• Plans, schedules and monitors inbound and outbound movement of all materials, intermediates and bulks through the manufacturing facility in coordination with QC, Warehouse, Supply Chain and Production Departments.
• Determines material requirements and coordinates the efficient movement of materials by optimizing work centers and campaign lengths.
• Ensures that the right materials are available at the right time, in the right quantities to meet demand and organizational objectives.
• Performs materials planning and process planning based on Supply Chain Schedules, RCCP, and S&OP outputs.
• Compares required materials to those available, supporting the change to production plans to address material availability.
• Analyzes the materials schedule and its effects, ensuring alignment with procurement and material supply.
• Optimizes materials and inventory, tracking changes and adjusting material replenishments.
• Manages materials item master data and relationships with local vendors.
• Escalates material delays and works with procurement to avoid potential risks.
• Applies inventory planning techniques and tools to optimize finished goods, work in process, and raw and pack material inventory models across locations.

Requirements:

The candidate should be detail-oriented and precise with a strong systems and technology aptitude. The candidate must have the ability to learn facility processes and systems quickly and maintain a methodical work style. The candidate should demonstrate good judgment, common sense, and a proactive approach with a sense of urgency.

• Requires BSc, BA or equivalent in supply chain related fields.
• PMP or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant progressive manufacturing experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience with SAP and MES is required.
• Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Power BI.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
• Experience managing multiple projects, duties and assignments.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a group.
• Compliance with all company safety rules and regulations.

Problem Solving:

The candidate works on assignments that are routine to semi-routine in nature where the ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. The candidate exercises judgment within specifically defined practices and policies and selects methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. The candidate normally receives general instruction on routine work and detailed instruction on new assignments.
