Job description

About the Role

Join an AI company building software for engineering design and simulation of physical systems. You will help develop an AI-powered product, shipping features quickly and taking ownership from early design through production.

What You'll Do

  • Work with a frontend engineer to improve the product interface and accelerate production releases.

  • Build and own product features end to end, including architecture, deployment, and reliability.

  • Gradually take on more backend-focused full stack work, including new features, infrastructure, and systems.

  • Establish effective practices for AI-assisted, agent-driven software development.

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and research teammates to prototype and improve ideas for industrial users.

What We're Looking For

  • Three to ten years of software engineering experience, including substantial full stack web product development.

  • Strong backend skills and solid frontend capabilities, with experience using React and TypeScript; .NET experience is relevant.

  • Hands-on experience using AI coding agents and the judgment to review, debug, and improve their output.

  • A track record of taking products or major features from concept to production, ideally in a startup or early-stage environment.

  • Experience owning architecture, deployment, and reliability, and adapting as priorities shift.

  • Interest in physical systems, engineering design, CAD, or simulation.

  • Located in the United States or Canada and authorized to work there without visa sponsorship. The role requires one week onsite in San Mateo, California, every six weeks.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $200,000 to $275,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Hybrid, with the primary location in Canada and one week onsite in San Mateo, California, every six weeks.
