Job Description

Infrastructure Analyst

Summary

This position exists to serve as the sole on-site IT point of contact for a local manufacturing facility while actively contributing to enterprise-wide infrastructure initiatives. The role owns local technical operations, providing crucial Tier-2 and Tier-3 escalation support for issues that cannot be resolved remotely by centralized teams or the Tier-1 Managed Service Provider (MSP).

An incoming analyst will be fully responsible for maintaining high site productivity, managing hardware lifecycles, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across endpoints, systems, and local networking. Additionally, this position acts as a critical project resource by planning phased deployment approaches and leading local network cutovers for facility mergers and acquisitions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the exclusive on-site IT resource and primary point of contact for a facility of approximately 200 users.
  • Resolve escalated Tier-2 and Tier-3 hardware, software, network, and operational infrastructure issues.
  • Lead local network cutovers and plan structured, phased deployment strategies for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Administer user identities, access permissions, security configurations, and groups utilizing Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
  • Provision, image, configure, and manage corporate workstations, laptops, mobile devices, and industrial peripherals.
  • Perform physical diagnostics, components repair, and comprehensive asset lifecycle upgrades for local site hardware.
  • Partner with centralized IT leadership and collaborate with distributed enterprise infrastructure teams on scaling initiatives.
  • Own local asset inventory tracking, technical environment documentation, and system topology mapping.
  • Track, manage, and document support requests from creation to closure using enterprise ticketing platforms.

Required Experience

  • Strong background in Tier-2 and Tier-3 enterprise desktop and infrastructure support.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently as the sole on-site IT resource for an office, site, or industrial plant.
  • Proven experience building, repairing, and deploying corporate workstation hardware and managing device lifecycles.
  • Hands-on system administration experience using Microsoft 365 and Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) for identity and access management.
  • Direct experience troubleshooting local network connectivity, including basic TCP/IP issues, switches, and routing.
  • Broad technical exposure supporting active workstation imaging, desktop configuration management, and file migrations.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience supporting IT infrastructure within a manufacturing or industrial operational environment.
  • Prior involvement leading technical site expansions, office moves, or network infrastructure cutovers.
  • Experience coordinating and managing escalations alongside a remote IT Service Desk or a Tier-1 MSP.
  • Familiarity with formal ITIL methodologies and modern ITSM platforms such as Halo or Freshworks.
