Summary
This position exists to serve as the sole on-site IT point of contact for a local manufacturing facility while actively contributing to enterprise-wide infrastructure initiatives. The role owns local technical operations, providing crucial Tier-2 and Tier-3 escalation support for issues that cannot be resolved remotely by centralized teams or the Tier-1 Managed Service Provider (MSP).
An incoming analyst will be fully responsible for maintaining high site productivity, managing hardware lifecycles, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across endpoints, systems, and local networking. Additionally, this position acts as a critical project resource by planning phased deployment approaches and leading local network cutovers for facility mergers and acquisitions.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the exclusive on-site IT resource and primary point of contact for a facility of approximately 200 users.
- Resolve escalated Tier-2 and Tier-3 hardware, software, network, and operational infrastructure issues.
- Lead local network cutovers and plan structured, phased deployment strategies for mergers and acquisitions.
- Administer user identities, access permissions, security configurations, and groups utilizing Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
- Provision, image, configure, and manage corporate workstations, laptops, mobile devices, and industrial peripherals.
- Perform physical diagnostics, components repair, and comprehensive asset lifecycle upgrades for local site hardware.
- Partner with centralized IT leadership and collaborate with distributed enterprise infrastructure teams on scaling initiatives.
- Own local asset inventory tracking, technical environment documentation, and system topology mapping.
- Track, manage, and document support requests from creation to closure using enterprise ticketing platforms.
Required Experience
- Strong background in Tier-2 and Tier-3 enterprise desktop and infrastructure support.
- Demonstrated experience working independently as the sole on-site IT resource for an office, site, or industrial plant.
- Proven experience building, repairing, and deploying corporate workstation hardware and managing device lifecycles.
- Hands-on system administration experience using Microsoft 365 and Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) for identity and access management.
- Direct experience troubleshooting local network connectivity, including basic TCP/IP issues, switches, and routing.
- Broad technical exposure supporting active workstation imaging, desktop configuration management, and file migrations.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience supporting IT infrastructure within a manufacturing or industrial operational environment.
- Prior involvement leading technical site expansions, office moves, or network infrastructure cutovers.
- Experience coordinating and managing escalations alongside a remote IT Service Desk or a Tier-1 MSP.
- Familiarity with formal ITIL methodologies and modern ITSM platforms such as Halo or Freshworks.
Infrastructure Analyst
Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled, customer-focused Infrastructure Analyst to serve as the primary on-site IT resource for our client. This role will be responsible for advanced Tier-2/3 support, endpoint and hardware management, systems administration, and infrastructure troubleshooting across a hybrid environment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly independent, and capable of owning the full on-site IT function; delivering reliable support, maintaining system performance, and partnering closely with plant operations and centralized IT teams.
Requirements
- Strong Tier-2/3 infrastructure support experience.
- Ability to work independently as the sole on-site IT resource.
- Hands-on expertise with:
- End-user and endpoint support (workstations, laptops, mobile devices);
- Hardware troubleshooting, repair, and deployment;
- Systems administration (M365/Entra ID);
- User access, group policy, and endpoint management.
- Experience with broad infrastructure troubleshooting (network, systems, connectivity).
- Experience with workstation imaging, configuration, and lifecycle management.
- Experience with ITSM/ticketing systems and SLA-driven support.
- Expert knowledge of Windows environments (iOS a plus).
- Experience managing asset inventory and lifecycle tracking, as well as system documentation and environment upkeep.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Experience working as a standalone IT resource at a plant, site, or remote location.
- Background supporting manufacturing or operational environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM best practices and ticketing platforms (e.g., Halo or Freshworks).
- Experience with:
- Infrastructure projects (migrations, upgrades, rollouts);
- Multi-site or growing environments;
- Process improvement and IT standardization.
- Exposure to basic networking (TCP/IP, connectivity troubleshooting).
- Experience collaborating with MSPs and distributed IT teams.
This is a 6-month onsite Contract-for-Hire opportunity with our MN client.
