Job description

Senior / Principal Structural Engineer
Flexible UK Location | Hybrid Working

I'm working with a leading engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint a Senior or Principal Structural Engineer to support the delivery of major water and wastewater projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for a structural engineer who wants to work on significant infrastructure schemes from concept through to construction. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, influence design decisions, mentor junior engineers, and play a key role in delivering sustainable solutions within the water sector.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Structural design of reinforced concrete and steel structures for water and wastewater projects.
  • Producing calculations and reviewing drawings, models and subcontractor designs.
  • Coordinating with civil, mechanical, electrical and process engineering teams.
  • Supporting project delivery, ensuring designs are safe, buildable and cost-effective.
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring junior engineers.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Strong structural design experience within the water sector.
  • Experience using STAAD.Pro, Tekla Tedds and Microsoft Excel.
  • Good understanding of Eurocodes, CDM regulations and construction health & safety.
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution.
  • Water industry experience

Desirable

  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
  • Experience designing water-retaining structures.
  • BIM knowledge and experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
