Job Description

Diesel Generator Field Service Engineer

Location: Field-based (Evesham depot) - Nationwide UK coverage

Salary: £35,000 - £55,000 per year + benefits

About the Role

Our client is a well-established company with a long history in the international rental, sales and service of diesel generators and associated power systems. They are looking for a Diesel Generator Field Service Engineer to support work out of their Evesham depot and further afield on sites nationwide across the UK. The role covers both their own rental fleet and the maintenance of customers own power systems.

Key Tasks & Duties

  • Diesel engine service, repairs, fault finding and commissioning
  • Power system service, repairs, fault finding and commissioning
  • Attending breakdowns and fault-finding visits
  • Installation of power systems
  • Occasional work away from home across the UK and, if required, Europe
  • Training and development towards the electrical elements of the role, building all-round generator set skills

Skills & Experience

  • Previous proven experience of working on diesel generating sets in a field environment is essential (in-depth electrical knowledge preferred)
  • Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Plant Fitting or similar (BTEC, City & Guilds or equivalent) is advantageous
  • In-depth knowledge of Deep Sea Electronics and other control systems is advantageous (training will be provided)
  • Willingness to participate in a 24/7 call-out rota
  • Strong fault-finding ability and the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
  • CSCS/ECS card advantageous but not essential
  • Full driving licence required
  • DBS check advantageous (or will be carried out in due course)

Package

Remuneration will be discussed and is dependent on ability, qualifications and prior experience. Overtime rates are available as required.

Schedule: Monday to Friday + overtime and call-outs as required
