Job Description

Solutions Architect – Agentic Commerce Trust 
Location: Remote, with at least five hours of daily overlap with US Central and UK working hours 

Role Overview 

Join Experian’s existing Agent Trust scrum team and own the technical design of secure integrations across AI agent, commerce, identity, and payment ecosystems. You will define where trust is enforced, document architecture decisions, design demonstrations, and lead technical discussions with merchants and ecosystem partners. 

First 90 Days — Key Focus Areas 

These are initial priorities, not a fixed backlog. Focus areas may evolve as new agentic commerce capabilities emerge. 

  • Produce an integration hook-point inventory and compare Anthropic’s Messages API, Agent SDK, and Managed Agents runtimes. Author architecture decision records (ADRs) covering the primary runtime and integration architecture. 

  • Design the reference integration, including session-start identity binding, backend approve/step-up/deny decisions, per-hook fail-open or fail-closed policies, and hosted-agent gateway verification. Target integration without merchant changes to prompts or gate code. 

  • Design loyalty-without-login flows using UCP and a protocol-agnostic header/middleware approach, including member pricing, reserved inventory, and identity-linking step-up. 

  • Shape a Verifiable Credential proof of concept covering the issuer, holder wallet, presentation flow, merchant verifier, and required privacy properties. 

  • Develop threat models, merchant integration guides, and demonstration runbooks with fallback recordings. Lead the demonstrations. 

  • Author ADRs for enterprise identity-provider token exchange, trust verification within hosted worker-agent runtimes, and edge/CDN “good agent” signalling. Define enforcement points, signed information, and failure policies. 

  • Define purchase-correctness evaluation metrics, ground truth, and adversarial scenarios with the Python engineer and data science team. 

  • Design and document transaction recourse and consumer-data handling for regulated financial-services use cases with data governance and compliance teams. Legal decisions remain with counsel. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Eight or more years of solutions or software architecture experience, including hands-on coding for modern SaaS backends. 

  • Strong API security fundamentals: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT issuance and verification, and JWKS rotation. 

  • Microservices architecture experience, including service-to-service authentication, API gateways, and zero-trust patterns across systems owned by multiple teams. 

  • Experience co-designing integrations with external identity, cloud, CDN, or commerce platform teams. 

  • Threat-modelling and privacy-by-design experience. 

  • Ability to produce actionable ADRs and clear partner-facing sequence diagrams. 

  • Strong consulting communication skills, including leading external technical working sessions and translating between executives and engineers. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Working knowledge of Anthropic’s Claude platform, including Messages API tool use, prompt caching, Agent SDK, and Managed Agents. 

  • Experience with MCP, including authenticated MCP servers. 

  • Familiarity with UCP, OpenAI ACP, AP2, KYA concepts, and PCI-adjacent checkout flows. 

  • Experience with W3C Verifiable Credentials 2.0, OID4VCI/OID4VP, SD-JWT, or BBS+. 

  • Experience with fraud/risk decisioning platforms and CDN/edge architectures such as AWS CloudFront. 

  • Previous forward-deployed or client-embedded delivery experience. 

Key Deliverables 

Architecture decision records, hook-point inventory, threat models, reference architecture diagrams, integration guides, demonstration runbooks, and partner technical briefings. 

Travel Needs 

Occasional travel to partner or merchant sites may be required.
