Our client is currently seeking a Software Engineer
Location: Cary, NC
Duration: 12+ months
Key Responsibilities
- Perform requirements analysis, operational concept development, software design, and system architecture activities.
- Develop and maintain embedded software features for multiple vehicle platforms and configurations.
- Implement new functionality and resolve software defects in accordance with established requirements.
- Participate in software integration, code reviews, unit testing, and functional testing activities.
- Support component integration, vehicle-level validation, and troubleshooting efforts.
- Maintain and enhance feature-level software architecture across product lines.
- Investigate, analyze, and drive resolution of complex software and system issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful software delivery.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills (Highest Priority)
- Strong proficiency in embedded software development using C and/or C++.
- Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink, Model-Based Design, and Stateflow.
- Experience developing embedded applications and software components.
- Understanding of embedded operating systems, device drivers, and hardware/software integration.
- Experience with software component unit testing and functional testing.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle and delivery processes, including Agile methodologies.
- Experience writing, reviewing, and managing software requirements.
- Familiarity with CAN/J1939 communication networks.
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
Communication & Collaboration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Experience participating in design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with control systems design and analysis, particularly within agricultural or off-highway vehicle applications.
- Hands-on experience with model-based software development tools and methodologies.
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system design and diagnostics.
- Knowledge of electronic circuits and components, including the ability to interpret schematics and datasheets.
- Experience with Continuous Integration (CI), automated build systems, and software automation tools.
- Familiarity with embedded development tools such as debuggers, emulators, compilers, and simulators.
- Experience with automotive communication protocols including CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and J1939.
- Experience using laboratory and diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Passion for embedded systems engineering and continuous learning.
Education Requirements
