Job Description

This is the control that stops client money moving incorrectly. We're looking for a Finance Signer to authorise client account transactions, completion statements and bills prepared across Homey's conveyancing brands, applying the SRA Accounts Rules to every single item, reporting into the Business Unit Manager and working closely with our Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration (COFA).

What you'll do
Check and approve every payment receipt, bill and completion statement before release.
Report any potential Accounts Rules breach to the COFA the same day it's spotted.
Catch errors before money moves, not at reconciliation.
Work with Finance Specialists to keep the standard of what reaches you for sign-off consistently high.

What excellence looks like
No client money moves without a signed authorisation on file.
Errors are caught before completion, never discovered afterwards.
The COFA is never surprised by anything on client account.

Strong working knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules and client account operation (legal cashier, accounts manager or qualified conveyancer background).
Meticulous attention to detail — this role exists precisely because a small mistake here is expensive.
Confidence to hold up a payment when something doesn't add up, even under completion-day pressure.
Experience with conveyancing case management/accounts systems.

Salary £42,000–£58,000 DOE.
A trusted, senior sign-off role with real authority over client money controls.
Hybrid working, Wolverhampton base.
Clear route to COFA-adjacent responsibility as you build a track record.
