Android Engineer (Kotlin and Flutter) - 12-Month Contract - London/Bristol - Inside IR35

Our client, a leading IT consultancy, is looking for two Android Engineers to join a consumer servicing and engagement programme. You will design, build and maintain secure, production-ready Android applications, working closely with product owners, designers and Back End engineers. This is a 12-month contract, Inside IR35, based in London or Bristol.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain mobile applications for the Android ecosystem
• Implement modern UI using Jetpack Compose and Material Design, working closely with product teams
• Integrate RESTful APIs, GraphQL and third-party services into secure, high-performing applications
• Build, test, debug and deploy apps across Android versions and devices, optimising performance and memory use
• Contribute to code quality standards, code reviews and reusable component libraries

What You Will Ideally Bring

• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Flutter, with proven experience building and releasing Android apps
• Expertise with Android Studio, Jetpack Compose and Core Android components (Activities, Fragments, Services, Broadcast Receivers, Content Providers)
• Solid grounding in MVVM, MVI, MVC or Clean Architecture, with push notifications, background services and app life cycle management
• Experience with Git/GitHub/GitLab and unit and UI testing (JUnit, Espresso), working in an Agile/Scrum team
• Desirable: CI/CD exposure (Jenkins, Bitrise or GitHub Actions)
