Job Description

We are looking for an experienced public health leader to drive strategic planning, youth engagement, and health programs across Tennessee!

Position Details

  • Role: Adolescent Health Program Coordinator (Public Health Program Director 1)
  • Location: Nashville, TN (Must be a Tennessee resident by start date)
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Periodic in-person work in Nashville)
  • Schedule: Full-Time | Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CST (37.5 hrs/week)
  • Interview Process: Webcam or In-Person

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop, execute, and evaluate the statewide Adolescent Health Strategic Plan.
  • Program Oversight: Lead priority youth initiatives including Sources of Strength (suicide prevention), Screenagers, and Tennessee Generations (TNGen).
  • Youth Engagement: Facilitate youth advisory committees to ensure adolescent perspectives directly inform public health strategies.
  • Grant Management: Manage the Maternal & Child Health Block Grant (MCHBG) social-emotional priority, federal reporting, and funding proposals.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build key partnerships with schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations.

Key Qualifications & Highlighted Skills

Preferred Education:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Education, Social Work, Behavioral Science, or related field (Master's degree preferred).

Highlighted Skills Needed:

  •  Strategic Planning – Translating state/federal priorities into actionable health initiatives.
  • Program Management & Evaluation – Designing, implementing, and monitoring public health programs.
  • Grant Management – Experience writing grants, managing budgets, and submitting state/federal reports.
  • Facilitation & Public Speaking – Presenting to diverse audiences, guiding youth groups, and leading workshops.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Partnering with school districts, healthcare providers, and community agencies.
  • Data-Informed Decision-Making – Analyzing outcomes to drive continuous quality improvement.
