Job Description

Questech Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for an experienced Controls / Automation Engineer.

Salary: 45,000 per annum

Shifts: Monday to Friday - Days (6:00am-2:00pm or 7:00am-3:00pm)

The Role

  • Fault finding and programming of PLC-controlled machinery.
  • Support and improve automated production equipment.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs.
  • Diagnose electrical and control system faults.
  • Assist with continuous improvement and automation projects.
  • Commission new equipment and support installation work.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime.

The Person

  • Previous experience as a Controls Engineer, Automation Engineer or PLC Engineer.
  • Strong PLC fault-finding experience (programming knowledge is advantageous).
  • Electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent).
  • Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Proactive approach with excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
