Job Description

The role

We're looking for a mid-level full-stack developer to join a small, close-knit engineering team building and scaling our platform.

You'll work across the whole stack, taking features from initial idea through to production and supporting them once they're live. In a team this size that means real ownership and variety: new feature development, improving what's already there, and helping shape where the product goes next.

You'll be trusted to get on with your work and to make sensible calls along the way. The role suits someone who enjoys a broad remit and wants their work to be visible in the product quickly.

Tech stack

  • Front end: Vue 2.7 (migrating to Vue 3), TypeScript
  • Back end: Node.js, Express, TypeScript
  • Data: MongoDB and ClickHouse
  • Infrastructure: AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, CDK and more)
  • Tooling: Claude Code, Better Stack

What we're looking for

  • Solid commercial experience with TypeScript and JavaScript across the full stack
  • Confidence working in a large existing codebase: navigating unfamiliar code, tracing a bug across several layers, and making changes safely
  • A considered working practice with AI coding tools. Claude Code is central to how this team works, and how you use it matters far more than how much. If your name is on the commit, you can explain every line of it
  • The ability to take a feature from ticket to production largely independently. This is a small, busy team that can't offer close day-to-day support
  • Some AWS exposure and a genuine appetite to go deeper
  • An interest in user experience. With no designer on the team, whoever builds the interface owns how it works for the user

Nice to have: Vue (React experience translates well and support is available), MongoDB, ClickHouse or another time-series database, CDK or Terraform, and any background in energy or sustainability.

How the team works

We work in two-week sprints, with planning and refinement sessions and a retrospective at the end. Being a small team, we keep the process light and flexible.

We give our developers a lot of autonomy. You'll be trusted to manage your own time and get on with your work, and we care about what you deliver rather than how you got there. When things go wrong, we focus on learning from them rather than looking for someone to blame.

We operate a hybrid model, splitting the week between our central London office and working from home. We're a friendly, relaxed bunch and get together regularly for team meals, drinks and company socials.

We're also keen to help our team grow. If there's a technology or skill you want to develop, we'll support you in getting there.
