Residential Sales HVAC Technician

$75,000–$90,000+ annually

Build Trust. Solve Problems. Drive Sales. We are looking for a
Residential Sales HVAC Technician who combines strong technical ability with the confidence to communicate solutions and close opportunities in the home. This is a hands-on field position where you’ll diagnose, maintain, and repair residential HVAC systems while serving as a trusted advisor to homeowners.

You’ll help customers understand what’s happening with their system, clearly present their options, and recommend solutions that make sense for their home and budget. Success in this role comes down to three things: quality workmanship, an excellent customer experience, and strong sales performance.

What You'll Do
HVAC Service & Repair
Diagnose, service, maintain, and repair residential HVAC systems
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, airflow, and refrigerant-related issues
Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
Follow company procedures, safety requirements, and applicable codes
Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked service vehicle
Escalate complex technical issues when additional support is needed
Sales & Customer Solutions
Identify opportunities to improve system performance, comfort, efficiency, and reliability
Present homeowners with clear
Good / Better / Best options
Educate customers on available solutions, including:
HVAC repairs and service
System replacements
Preventative maintenance agreements
Indoor air quality products
Financing options
Meet established close-rate and average-ticket goals
Build relationships that generate repeat customers, referrals, and 5-star reviews
Customer Experience
Deliver a professional, friendly, and consultative experience on every service call
Explain findings and recommendations in a way homeowners can easily understand
Communicate pricing confidently and transparently
Address customer questions and concerns professionally
Treat every customer's home with care and leave the work area clean
Systems & Communication
Accurately document diagnostics, repairs, parts used, and customer options in the CRM
Maintain clear communication with dispatch and management regarding job status, scheduling, and parts needs
Experience with
Jobber and/or Housecall Pro is preferred
What We're Looking For
1–4+ years of residential HVAC field experience
Strong understanding of residential HVAC service, maintenance, and diagnostics
Comfortable discussing pricing and presenting options in a customer's home
Sales-minded approach without sacrificing customer trust
EPA Universal Certification or willingness to obtain
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Ability to learn and effectively use field-service software and CRM systems
We'd Especially Like to Meet You If You Have
Previous experience in a sales-driven HVAC service environment
A proven history of strong close rates and average tickets
Experience selling HVAC replacements, memberships, IAQ products, or upgrades
Experience using Jobber, Housecall Pro, or similar field-service software
Strong customer reviews or a history of generating repeat and referral business
