Job description

Crawford is seeking an experienced Senior Liability Adjuster to join its Sydney team. You will manage a mixed portfolio of personal injury and property liability matters, from slips, trips and falls through to catastrophic injury and fatality claims. Depending on the brief, assignments may involve early factual investigation and evidence preservation, or end-to-end claim management and settlement negotiation.

Why Join Crawford?

Join a collaborative claims environment where you can work alongside other adjusters and specialist professionals across Crawford’s national liability team. You will gain exposure to diverse and high-profile matters, with the backing and career opportunities of a global claims organisation.

  • Varied work spanning personal injury and property liability.
  • Opportunity to deepen recognised injury liability expertise.
  • Experienced colleagues and a professional, quality-focused culture.

What You Will Do

  • Manage clients, competing priorities and claim milestones; negotiate settlements where instructed.
  • Investigate personal injury and property liability claims, including incidents where a claim is anticipated.
  • Interview claimants, insureds, employees and witnesses, and obtain clear signed statements.
  • Reconcile competing accounts and gather supporting evidence for liability assessment, litigation and discovery.
  • Deliver high-quality reports with clear findings and strategic recommendations.
  • Apply relevant legal principles, legislation, codes of practice and Australian Standards.

What You Will Bring

You are an established injury/liability professional with the judgement, sensitivity and technical confidence to manage complex matters independently. You ask the right questions, identify gaps and inconsistencies, and turn detailed evidence into clear, defensible reports.

  • Proven liability adjusting experience with substantial personal injury exposure; mixed property liability experience is advantageous.
  • Strong interviewing, statement-taking, evidence analysis and report-writing capability.
  • Excellent organisation and time management across a varied claims portfolio.
  • Working knowledge of liability principles and relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Confidence engaging insurers, lawyers, corporate and government clients, witnesses and claimants.
  • ANZIIF, Chartered Loss Adjuster or comparable industry accreditation is desirable.
