Job description

Solutions Architect - BAE Systems
Location: Sheffield
Contract: 6 Months
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days onsite per week
Security Clearance: BPSS required, SC clearance in progress, UK Eyes Only restrictions apply
Daily Rate: £650 PAYE or £879.36 Umbrella
The Opportunity
  • Lead solution architecture across enterprise applications, infrastructure, cyber security, and business transformation initiatives.
  • Conduct cyber security assessments across IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments.
  • Produce risk assessments and develop remediation roadmaps to improve security posture.
  • Build, harden, configure, and secure standalone IT and OT assets.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable and secure technology solutions.
  • Produce and govern architecture documentation, including HLDs, LLDs, system designs, and security documentation.
  • Lead business case development, option analysis, and technology investment recommendations.
  • Provide technical governance and challenge to suppliers, managed service providers, and delivery partners.
  • Establish and chair Architecture Review Boards.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven Solution Architecture experience within a complex enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise systems, infrastructure, integrations, and cyber security.
  • Experience producing architecture and technical design documentation.
  • Hands-on experience conducting cyber security assessments and creating risk assessments.
  • Experience building, hardening, and configuring IT and OT assets.
  • Ability to identify security, architectural, and operational gaps and recommend practical solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience developing business cases and supporting technology governance.
Security Requirements
Candidates must be eligible to work within the security requirements of the role. BPSS screening is required, with SC clearance in progress. The role is subject to UK Eyes Only restrictions.
