Title: Senior IT Project Manager Cybersecurity Controls & Governance
Location: Newark, NJ/Hybrid
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead enterprise Cybersecurity Governance initiatives focused on IT General Controls (ITGC), Cybersecurity Risk Assessments (CSRA), Controls Metrics, Automation, and Executive Dashboards. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing cybersecurity and compliance-related projects while partnering with Information Security, Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, and Technology teams.
This is not a traditional SDLC or Stage Gate Project Management role. The successful candidate should be comfortable managing governance, risk, controls, metrics, and executive reporting initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Manage multiple Cybersecurity Governance and Controls initiatives across the enterprise.
Lead project planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery for cybersecurity programs.
Coordinate enterprise IT General Controls (ITGC) initiatives.
Support Cybersecurity Risk Assessments (CSRA) and remediation efforts.
Partner with Cybersecurity, Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit, Infrastructure, and Application teams.
Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, and resource plans.
Track project progress using KPIs, controls metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting.
Drive automation initiatives to improve cybersecurity governance, reporting, and operational efficiency.
Develop executive dashboards and management reports to provide visibility into cybersecurity program health.
Facilitate project status meetings, governance meetings, Steering Committee meetings, and executive reviews.
Manage project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies (RAID), and mitigation plans.
Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure timely delivery of cybersecurity initiatives.
Ensure alignment with enterprise cybersecurity policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to cybersecurity governance and controls.
Mandatory Qualifications:
10+ years of IT Project or Program Management experience.
Experience managing enterprise Cybersecurity or Information Security initiatives.
Strong experience with IT General Controls (ITGC).
Experience supporting Cybersecurity Risk Assessments (CSRA).
Good understanding of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
Experience developing and reporting Controls Metrics, KPIs, KRIs, and executive dashboards.
Experience driving automation initiatives related to governance, reporting, or compliance.
Strong experience managing multiple concurrent enterprise initiatives.
Experience managing project plans, schedules, risks, issues, dependencies, and executive reporting.
Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
PMP Certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) programs.
Experience supporting SOX IT Controls or Internal Audit initiatives.
Experience with GRC platforms such as ServiceNow GRC, RSA Archer, AuditBoard, or similar.
Experience with dashboard and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Experience working in the Utilities or other highly regulated industries.
Security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CRISC are a plus.
