Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a Technical & Operations Coordinator to join our Sydney team on a permanent full-time basis. Based at Port Botany and supporting operations across Port Botany and Port Jackson, you will split time between the office and vessels, coordinating vessel maintenance, contractor activities, procurement and compliance to help keep our fleet safe, compliant and operational.

Join a global harbour towage leader where you'll work with crews, contractors and technical stakeholders to support safe, reliable marine operations and contribute to ongoing development opportunities within the maritime industry.

What You'll Do
  • Coordinate planned and critical vessel maintenance to maximise fleet availability and reliability.
  • Manage the procurement of parts, consumables and safety-critical spares, from ordering through to receipting and inventory control.
  • Work closely with vessel crews, contractors and suppliers to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Support vessel surveys, certification and compliance activities to ensure statutory requirements are met.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance, purchasing and compliance records within our planned maintenance and safety management systems.
  • Assist the Technical Superintendent with technical projects, vessel changes and continuous improvement initiatives across the Sydney operation.
What You'll Bring
  • A technical background gained through a trade, marine, engineering or maintenance environment, or experience in a similar technical or operations coordination role.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate multiple activities and follow tasks through to completion.
  • A practical, proactive approach to problem solving, with excellent attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, enabling you to work effectively with vessel crews, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and the ability to learn maintenance, procurement and business management systems.
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to regularly work across Port Botany, Port Jackson and aboard vessels to support operational requirements.

We value diversity in all its forms, including gender, age, nationality, race, sexual orientation, disability, or religious beliefs.
