Job Description

Sales Consultant - Fine Jewellery

Location: Hatton Garden, Central London
Base salary: 32,500 + commission + company bonus

About the Opportunity

Are you a commercially driven sales professional who thrives on closing deals, building client relationships and delivering exceptional customer experiences?

We're recruiting three Sales Consultants to join a growing, award-winning fine jewellery business based in the heart of London's renowned jewellery district. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding business at a pivotal stage of its growth, with the autonomy to manage your own clients, take ownership of your results and maximise your earning potential.

You'll guide customers through some of life's most meaningful purchases, combining commercial instinct with warmth, confidence and emotional intelligence. From initial consultation through to final handover, you'll manage the entire sales journey, helping clients make informed decisions while delivering a genuinely personal, premium experience.

We're looking for people who love selling, are motivated by targets and commission, and understand that the best sales come from earning trust rather than applying pressure.

Fine jewellery experience is beneficial but not essential. We're equally interested in successful sales professionals from luxury retail, watches, premium fashion, hospitality, art or other customer-focused environments where relationship building and consultative selling are central to success.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing your own client appointments from initial consultation through to sale and final handover.
  • Building rapport quickly and understanding each customer's needs, preferences and budget.
  • Converting enquiries and appointments into sales, consistently working towards and exceeding individual targets.
  • Using a consultative approach to recommend suitable products, bespoke designs and complementary services.
  • Explaining product features, materials, craftsmanship and design options in a clear, engaging and confident manner.
  • Maintaining relationships through proactive follow-ups, repeat business and client referrals.
  • Taking ownership of your sales performance, pipeline and client experience.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across sales, customer care and production to ensure a seamless customer journey.
  • Staying informed about products, trends and customer preferences to continually improve your performance.

What We're Looking For

Above all, we want people who can demonstrate strong sales ability, a genuine appetite for earning commission and the confidence to manage their own client relationships.

You'll ideally bring:

  • A proven track record of closing sales, meeting targets and delivering measurable commercial results.
  • A strong personal drive, with the motivation to maximise earnings through individual performance.
  • Confidence in consultative selling, handling objections and closing opportunities professionally.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the emotional intelligence to understand customers and adapt your approach.
  • A natural ability to build trust, particularly when guiding customers through high-value or emotionally significant purchases.
  • The independence and accountability to manage appointments, follow-ups and results with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organisation, resilience and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

Previous fine jewellery experience is preferred, ideally with at least two years in the sector, but it is not essential. Candidates from other premium or consultative sales environments will be considered if they can demonstrate the right skills, behaviours and commercial results.

The ideal candidate is confident without being pushy, commercially ambitious without compromising customer experience, and motivated by the opportunity to take ownership of their success.

The Business & Culture

You'll be joining an established and growing jewellery business with a strong focus on craftsmanship, transparency and exceptional service.

Unlike a traditional retail environment, the business combines customer-facing sales with in-house jewellery production. This gives the team a deeper understanding of the products they sell and the ability to guide customers through bespoke designs and the finer details of craftsmanship.

The sales culture is entrepreneurial and collaborative. Consultants have significant autonomy over their client appointments and individual performance, with the wider business providing the operational and production support needed to deliver an excellent customer journey.

The emphasis is on building long-term client relationships, delivering outstanding service and achieving sustainable commercial success.

Salary, Commission & Benefits

  • Base salary: 32,500 per annum.
  • Commission: Averaging approximately 8,000 per year, paid quarterly, with higher earnings possible depending on individual performance.
  • Holiday: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Pension: Employer pension contributions.
  • Healthcare: Private healthcare and wellbeing benefits.
  • Development: Comprehensive training, ongoing professional development and opportunities for career progression.
  • Working environment: Premium showroom in Hatton Garden, Central London, with additional workplace and team benefits.

The commission structure rewards individual performance, making this an attractive opportunity for someone who enjoys working towards targets and wants their earnings to reflect their results.
