Job Description

  • Manage project execution for all phases of the project: idea formation, kick-off, scope and requirements gathering, development, testing, training, schedule and project risks.
  • Drive the project and monitor overall project performance and project quality.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks; ensure that management is aware of these risks. Manage project milestones and timelines.
  • Communicate project information and status to management and stakeholders.
  • Establish project roles and responsibilities, analyze availability of resources and determine resource allocation within each given project. Define resource forecast requirement plans. Ensure that allocated resources are compliant with project execution.
  • Coordinate with internal resources, external clients as well as third party vendors as needed.
  • Act as catalyst to resolve project issues and escalate when necessary.
  • Work across all functional support areas (Distribution, Marketing, Underwriting, Operations, IT, Legal and Compliance, etc.) to execute critical projects as assigned by senior management.
  • Supervise project documentation delivery in accordance with standards, approved by all relevant parties, assuring quality and alignment with other projects. Ensure any variation to the project scope is clearly recognized and approved.
  • Act as key stakeholder liaison to ensure smooth handling of deliverables and issues as they arise. Ensure stakeholder input to the project is received in a timely and effective manner in order to meet project objectives and schedules.
  • Responsible for assembling the project team based on their technical or functional development, performance, and/or termination during the project or projects.
  • Recognize how corporate culture impacts the success of the project; knows how to use organization to achieve objectives. Strategically positions the project within overall short and long-term goals.
  • Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing budgets; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Respond to escalated project risks, including scope/feature creep issues.
  • Propose management plan for project reserves and contingencies.
  • Define the procurement strategy (if needed) based on best-practice procurement plan and provider selection.
  • Lead contract administration (order management, billing and payment).
  • Ensures a high level of fiscal control and accountability for project budget.
  • Proactively identify tradeoffs or options that require leadership sign-off and then drive and document decision making.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
