Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: From £13.57 up to £14.51 (depending on experience and qualifications)

Want a career that makes a real difference?

At HSL Compliance, we’re all about creating safe, healthy environments - and we’re growing fast. That means we’re on the lookout for a Risk Assessor to join our expert team.

If you’re detail-driven, enjoy working on-site, and want to help keep schools, housing, leisure centres and more safe from Legionella risks, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this field-based role, you’ll help clients stay compliant with key water safety regulations. From conducting surveys and site audits to creating accurate reports and system schematics, your work will help protect people and property.

Day-to-day, you’ll:

  • Carry out Legionella risk assessments in line with HSE guidance (ACoP L8 & HSG274)

  • Create clear, accurate reports and technical documentation

  • Produce system schematics of hot and cold water systems

  • Support with sampling, monitoring, and other water treatment tasks

  • Audit client records and logbooks for compliance

  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients

  • Represent HSL professionally at all times

  • You’ll report to an Account Manager or Supervisor, and while your home base will be in or around the areas of Sunderland, Newcastle upon Tyne or Durham, some UK-wide travel may be required.

Who We’re Looking For

We're after someone who’s:

  • Technically skilled with strong attention to detail

  • Self-motivated and able to manage their own workload

  • Client-focused with excellent communication skills

  • Flexible—you’re happy to travel when needed

  • Safety-first with a solid understanding of health & safety

  • Eager to learn and grow in a dynamic industry

  • A DBS check maybe required.

What You’ll Get

We believe in investing in our people. Here’s what you can expect as part of Team HSL:

  • Company pension scheme

  • 22 days annual leave + 3 unpaid days + bank holidays

  • Paid overtime (including travel time starting from your doorstep)

  • Company sick pay scheme

  • Free eye tests (biennially)

  • Free on-site parking (where available)

  • Ongoing training & career development opportunities

  • Inclusive, supportive workplace (we’re an Equal Opportunities & Disability Confident employer)
