Quick Overview
Job Description
Bully Pulpit International is an outcomes agency made up of strategists, data scientists, and artists. We come from politics, brands, and government and we communicate without barriers and measure what matters. We have more than 400 team members in six countries and thirteen offices — Berlin, Brussels, Chicago, D.C., London, Los Angeles, New York, Oslo, San Francisco, and Zürich. We apply our unique expertise across strategic communications, public affairs, research, and digital marketing to create sophisticated and customized strategies that make change possible for both American and European clients.
The Impact You Will Make
As an ACD team, you and your partner won't just concept ads—you will help lead and shape award-winning, meaningful campaigns alongside a talented and growing team. This role is for strategic thinkers who are hungry to create work that not only gets noticed but inspires action and creates real-world change.
- Starting Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000 (+ annual bonus)
- Expectation to work from one of our offices (Chicago, DC, NYC, SF, LA) at least 3 days a week
What the Day-to-Day Looks Like
This ACD team will be responsible for both high-level conceptual development and hands-on execution.
- Develop and execute high-impact, conceptual ad campaigns designed to deliver measurable results on global brands and major issue advocacy clients. We want you to own your work, from script to screen.
- Produce attention-grabbing, persuasive copy and art across all media (video scripts, social content, headlines, OOH, etc.), consistently adjusting tone for diverse channels and audiences.
- Help mentor and guide more junior members of the creative team, creating an environment of creative problem-solving and excellence.
- Stay attuned to cultural, social, and industry trends, leveraging real-time insights to ensure creative ideas are relevant, earned-media worthy, and highly impactful.
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams (Account, Media, Insights) to ensure that creative output directly tests well against campaign objectives and strategic insights.
- Prepare and pitch creative concepts to internal teams and clients, articulating and defending your ideas with clarity and passion.
- 6–9 years of experience in a creative advertising agency environment, with a strong background in either copywriting or art direction. We are hiring this role as part of an Art Director + Copywriter creative team, so candidates should bring deep expertise in their respective discipline
- A strong individual or team portfolio with 360-degree campaign ideas that demonstrate a range of writing for various clients across multiple channels (TV/OLV, social, OOH, digital, experiential, etc.).
- Proven experience writing multi-channel campaigns for brand reputation, corporate social responsibility, public affairs, and/or issue advocacy campaigns.
- Fluency in advertising across digital and traditional channels, with a deep understanding of platform-specific best practices, especially on social media.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to strategically sell your ideas to internal and external stakeholders.
- Agility and the ability to work on multiple clients and projects simultaneously, quickly delivering smart, strategic ideas under tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working together or independently with your partner
- You have a sense of humor. You like working with humans. You have an openness to solving brand problems with effective creative ideas, and not just chasing awards (but you also like winning awards).
