Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle DBA) with strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration, Oracle RAC, GoldenGate, Data Guard, Exadata, performance tuning, and high-availability/disaster-recovery solutions. The candidate will be responsible for managing mission-critical Oracle databases in production environments, ensuring availability, performance, security, backup/recovery, and operational stability.

The ideal candidate should have experience supporting large-scale databases in Financial Services/Banking environments, handling production incidents, database upgrades and migrations, cutover activities, capacity planning, and root cause analysis.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong experience in Oracle Database Administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC 19c and Oracle 23ai.
  • Strong experience with Oracle GoldenGate 23ai for replication and data integration.
  • Experience with Oracle Data Guard including physical standby, switchover, and failover.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Exadata administration and troubleshooting.
  • Expertise in Oracle Database Performance Tuning and Optimization.
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for database monitoring and administration.
  • Experience with Oracle Database Upgrades and Migrations.
  • Strong understanding of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) architectures.
  • Excellent Oracle database troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Backup and Recovery, including RMAN.
  • Experience with database monitoring, alert management, and production support.
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux administration.
  • Strong Shell scripting skills.
  • Knowledge of Perl scripting is preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle Toad and Oracle SQL Developer.
  • Strong SQL and database administration knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain Oracle databases across development, test, and production environments.
  • Manage and support Oracle RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate, and Exadata environments.
  • Monitor database health, availability, performance, storage, and resource utilization.
  • Perform database performance tuning, SQL tuning, memory optimization, and capacity analysis.
  • Implement and maintain HA/DR solutions to meet business continuity requirements.
  • Perform database upgrades, patching, migrations, and version transitions.
  • Develop and execute database migration and cutover plans with minimal business disruption.
  • Manage backup and recovery activities using Oracle RMAN and other enterprise backup solutions.
  • Troubleshoot database incidents, performance issues, replication failures, and connectivity problems.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical production incidents and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Monitor Oracle databases using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and other monitoring tools.
  • Support Oracle GoldenGate replication environments and troubleshoot replication lag and synchronization issues.
  • Perform Data Guard switchover/failover activities and validate DR readiness.
  • Work closely with application, infrastructure, network, and engineering teams to resolve production issues.
  • Create and maintain UNIX/Shell scripts for database monitoring, automation, and operational activities.
  • Participate in on-call and production support rotations.
  • Perform capacity planning and forecasting for database infrastructure, storage, CPU, memory, and growth.
  • Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and database support runbooks.
  • Follow change management, incident management, and problem management processes.

Financial Services Experience

  • Experience supporting Oracle databases in Banking, Financial Services, or Capital Markets environments.
  • Understanding of mission-critical applications and strict availability requirements.
  • Experience working with production systems requiring high availability, disaster recovery, and minimal downtime.
  • Ability to work within regulated production environments and follow established change-control processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle Database certification is a plus.
  • Experience with large-scale enterprise Oracle environments.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a 24x7 production support environment.
  • Experience participating in major database migration and cutover projects.
