Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Senior Production Support Engineer with strong Java, Golang, and Python experience to provide L2/L3 production support for business-critical enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in incident management, application troubleshooting, root cause analysis, monitoring, and production operations across cloud-based and microservices environments.

The candidate will take end-to-end ownership of production issues, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure application stability, performance, and availability within defined SLA timelines. Healthcare domain experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Provide L2/L3 production support for Java- and Golang-based applications.
Monitor application health, performance, availability, and service-level metrics.
Troubleshoot production incidents involving applications, APIs, databases, middleware, and infrastructure.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive and corrective actions.
Analyze application logs, metrics, and alerts using Datadog and Splunk.
Support production deployments, releases, and change management activities.
Work with Development, QA, Infrastructure, SRE, and Business teams to resolve production issues.
Coordinate major incidents and drive cross-team action plans through resolution and closure.
Automate repetitive operational tasks using Python and Shell/Bash scripting.
Support cloud-native applications running on AWS and containerized platforms.
Manage incidents, problems, and changes using ServiceNow and/or Jira.
Participate in on-call rotations and ensure compliance with operational and security standards.
Drive production defect resolution and maintain end-to-end operational ownership.
Required Technical Skills
Programming Languages

Strong hands-on experience with Java and production support of Java applications.java AND Golang AND aws AND Python AND (L2 OR L3 "production support")
Experience with Golang.
Python scripting and automation.
Spring Boot, microservices, and REST APIs.
Cloud & Container Technologies

AWS: EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, CloudWatch, and IAM.
Kubernetes and containerized application environments.
Monitoring & Logging

Datadog.
Splunk.
Databases

Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and PostgreSQL.
DevOps & CI/CD

Git, Bitbucket, and Maven.
ArgoCD, Tekton, and Helm.
Messaging

Apache Kafka.
Production Support & ITSM

L2/L3 production support.
Incident, problem, and change management.
Root cause analysis and major incident coordination.
SLA/KPI monitoring.
ServiceNow/Jira ticket management.
Production release and deployment support.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting microservices and AWS cloud-native applications.
Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), observability, and high-availability systems.
Healthcare, insurance, or other enterprise domain experience.
Exposure to HashiCorp Vault, Istio, Terraform, and Ansible.
Experience with Kubernetes administration and operational automation.
Soft Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Strong ownership, incident leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to coordinate across teams and drive issues to closure.
Mandatory Requirements
6–8 years of Java production support experience at the L2/L3 level.
Hands-on experience with Java, Golang, and Python.
Database experience with Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and/or PostgreSQL.
Monitoring experience with Datadog and Splunk.
Ability to work onsite three days per week in Richmond, VA, or Norfolk, VA.
