Job Description

We are looking to hire a Rodman for our growing Geospatial Group in St. Louis, MO.

Primary Responsibilities
•    Assist survey crews with field surveying and construction layout activities. 
•    Hold survey rods, prisms, GPS equipment, and other measurement tools as directed by the Instrument Man or Crew Chief. 
•    Support the collection of topographic, boundary, as-built, and construction staking data. 
•    Assist in establishing, locating, and recovering survey control points and benchmarks. 
•    Help transport, set up, and maintain survey equipment and supplies. 
•    Learn proper operation and care of total stations, GPS receivers, levels, and data collectors. 
•   Record field notes and measurements accurately and legibly. 
•    Assist with locating property corners, monuments, and other survey markers. 
•    Maintain awareness of traffic, construction activities, and site hazards while working in the field. 
•    Follow company safety procedures and participate in daily safety meetings. 
•    Assist with site preparation and cleanup activities as needed. 
•    Communicate effectively with crew members to ensure efficient field operations. 
•    Support quality control efforts by verifying measurements and helping identify discrepancies. 
•    Demonstrate initiative in learning survey methods, equipment, and industry standards. 
•    Perform other duties as assigned in support of survey operations. 

Minimum Qualifications
•    Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geomatics, Geospatial Sciences, or a related field preferred; Or 3-5 years of applicable experience. 
•   Basic understanding of mathematics, measurements, and geometry. 
•    Willingness to learn surveying procedures, equipment, and software. 
•    Ability to work effectively as part of a team. 
•    Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. 
•    Good verbal communication skills and ability to follow instructions. 
•    Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office. 
•    Ability and desire to develop into an Instrument Man or Survey Crew Chief role over time.
