Candidates must have 2+ years of public accounting tax experience and be able to independently prepare and review complex individual and business tax returns. Candidates should be a CPA candidate, licensed CPA, licensed EA, or actively progressing toward CPA or EA licensure. Confidential Employer. We are an established Greater Los Angeles CPA firm serving small and mid-size businesses, their owners, and families. Our work extends well beyond tax compliance.

We develop long-term client relationships by understanding the full financial picture and providing thoughtful tax planning, advisory services, and year-round support. Prepare and review complex individual tax returns, including investment activity, rental properties, business interests, and multi-state filings. Prepare and review S corporation, partnership, and corporate tax returns, including Forms 1120-S, 1065, and 1120. Own assigned tax engagements from initial setup through reviewer-ready completion. Review Tax Staff work for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to firm standards.

Review outsourced and AI-assisted tax returns and resolve discrepancies before Manager review. Identify technical tax issues, research positions, and clearly document conclusions. Prepare and review high-quality workpapers requiring minimal Manager intervention. Provide hands-on direction, training, and constructive feedback to junior Tax Staff. Communicate directly with clients regarding documents, open items, and routine tax questions. Develop an understanding of each client's business, ownership structure, and overall tax profile.

Manage multiple engagements and deadlines while communicating proactively about risks and unresolved issues.

Use tax technology and automation tools to improve accuracy, workflow, and efficiency.
2+ years of public accounting experience focused on tax preparation and review.
~ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field satisfying applicable CPA licensing requirements.
~ Strong experience preparing and reviewing complex individual and business tax returns.
~ Knowledge of S corporations, partnerships, pass-through entities, and multi-state taxation.
~ CPA candidate, CPA licensed, EA licensed, or actively pursuing CPA or EA licensure.
~ Strong tax research, workpaper documentation, and analytical skills.
~ Ability to independently manage multiple tax engagements.
~ Experience providing direction or feedback to junior tax staff preferred.
~ Closely held business and high net worth individual tax experience strongly preferred.
~ Real estate tax experience is a plus.
~ CCH Axcess Tax, CCH Engagement, XCM, Blue J, and advanced Excel experience preferred.
