Senior Vice President, Financial Institutions Group (FIG)
Overview
A leading alternative asset manager is seeking a senior investment professional to join its Financial Institutions Group (FIG). This individual will be responsible for originating, structuring, and executing investment opportunities while developing strategic relationships across banks, specialty finance companies, credit unions, insurance companies, and other financial institutions.
The role is highly external-facing and offers the opportunity to work directly with investment professionals and senior leadership to deploy capital into a broad range of credit and asset-backed opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving new business development, sourcing transactions, and building long-term institutional partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage senior-level relationships across banks, specialty finance companies, credit unions, insurers, and other financial institutions.
- Originate, structure, and execute credit and structured finance transactions.
- Identify new investment opportunities and generate proprietary deal flow.
- Work closely with investment, capital markets, and portfolio management teams to develop tailored financing and capital solutions.
- Manage transactions from initial sourcing through diligence, negotiation, execution, and closing.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, client meetings, and market events.
- Provide market intelligence, industry insights, and competitive analysis to support investment and business development initiatives.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to senior executives, counterparties, and investment committees.
- Collaborate across internal teams to support onboarding, execution, and ongoing relationship management.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in financial services, with a background in Financial Institutions Group (FIG) coverage, structured finance, asset-backed finance, private credit, investment banking, principal investing, or capital markets.
- Strong existing network across financial institutions and specialty finance platforms.
- Demonstrated success originating and executing complex financial transactions.
- Experience developing senior-level client relationships and generating new business opportunities.
- Deep understanding of balance sheet management, structured finance, lending products, and credit markets.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
