Job Description
About the OCU Group
OCU Group is a global infrastructure and energy services business with more than 5,000 people delivering projects that power communities and support the energy transition.
Our Australian and New Zealand operations are growing fast, bringing together great businesses including All Energy Contracting (AEC), Bam Bam, Pilecom and Volta under one group.
About the opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Service Desk Engineer to be our team in Perth.
You'll be joined by a Service Desk Analyst also based in Perth, and together you'll be the on-the-ground IT team for Western Australia, with the rest of the wider team in Brisbane and the UK.
What You'll Do
- Own second line incidents and requests escalated from across the business through to resolution.
- Resolve complex Microsoft 365 and Entra issues beyond first line, including licensing, mailbox and hybrid identity faults.
- Investigate recurring problems and drive fixes through proper problem management, not just quick patches.
- Support tenant migrations, covering the WA end of user, mailbox and device cutovers, including on-site work over migration weekends.
- Manage Windows devices through Intune and Autopilot, from remote repair and rebuild through to endpoint security investigations.
- Create, configure and govern Microsoft 365 groups, Teams and SharePoint sites, including permissions, ownership, guest access and content lifecycle.
- Diagnose site connectivity issues across WA sites, yards and offices, working closely with our network provider to resolve them.
- Provide on-site support for the Perth office and WA project sites
- Coach our Service Desk Analysts and help lift technical standards across the team.
What you'll bring to the team
- Extensive experience in a second line or similar IT support role, ideally supporting Microsoft 365, Entra and Windows environments.
- Hands-on experience with Intune and Autopilot for device management and troubleshooting.
- Comfortable working through Microsoft 365 and Entra issues beyond the basics, including some exposure to Exchange Online PowerShell.
- Sound judgement and the confidence to work independently, knowing when to resolve, when to escalate, and when to bring in an external provider.
- A practical, hands-on approach to site and network troubleshooting, and a willingness to travel to WA sites when needed.
- Strong communication skills, comfortable representing IT to the wider business and building trust as the go-to person on the ground.
- Some coaching or mentoring experience is a bonus, as you'll help develop our Service Desk Analysts.
Why Join the OCU Group
- Be part of something bigger: join an international group operating across the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
- Grow with us: get involved in major technology projects, playing your part as we roll out new platforms and systems across a rapidly growing international group.
- Work on industry-leading projects: contribute to some of Australia and New Zealand's largest renewable energy and power infrastructure projects.
