Platform Engineer

As part of Theradex Oncology, you will have the opportunity to work with one of the largest professional teams focused solely on the development of cancer therapies. Cancer research continues to evolve as new therapies and therapeutic approaches are discovered, as part of the team you will work to support our sponsors in the development of these therapies. The Platform Engineer will play a crucial role in building and improving the cloud infrastructure in AWS, focusing on DevOps tasks initially and expanding to broader platform engineering responsibilities as the team matures.

Responsibilities:

• Lead technical alignment by conducting architecture and deployment readiness reviews with application teams
• Design platform solutions with operability and supportability as primary concerns
• Act as a technical communication bridge between application development and infrastructure teams
• Proactively identify and address technical and security risks
• Troubleshoot technical problems, support incident management, and provide root cause analysis
• Work closely with IT, Business, and Vendor teams
• Assist in modernizing on-prem legacy applications in AWS
• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines
• Automate application deployment workflows targeting AWS services
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using AWS ECS Fargate
• Provision, configure, and maintain/monitor AWS resources
• Write and maintain Terraform code for managing AWS infrastructure
• Perform code reviews and contribute to policies for Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practices
• Apply security best practices across infrastructure and deployment pipelines
• Assist with compliance-related tasks such as audit logging and vulnerability scanning
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar tools
• Develop and maintain platform and system documentation

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree preferred
• Active AWS DevOps Engineer Associate or AWS DevOps Solutions Architect Associate Certification required
• Minimum of 4 years of work experience as a DevOps engineer or in similar roles required
• Willingness to work outside of standard business hours and weekends when required

The annual salary for this position is between $140,000 - $165,000, based on qualifications and experience.
