Head of Finance, Commercial (12mths)

As Head of Finance, Commercial at Heathrow, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy that underpins our customer experience and commercial success.

Sitting within Heathrow’s senior financial leadership team, you will partner closely with operational, commercial, and customer insight teams to ensure that financial decisions drive value and align with our long-term vision of delivering outstanding passenger experiences. Your leadership will influence key investment decisions, pricing strategies, and performance outcomes that directly impact millions of travellers each year.

This role is central to ensuring that Heathrow’s financial planning supports both commercial growth and service excellence. You will provide strategic financial insight to guide business cases, evaluate new initiatives, and ensure that resources are allocated effectively to deliver measurable results. Working collaboratively across functions, you will help shape the financial narrative that supports Heathrow’s transformation and sustainability goals.

Please note this is a 12-month FTC. 

• Leading financial planning, forecasting, and performance management for customer and commercial functions.
• Partnering with senior leaders to evaluate and prioritise business cases and investment opportunities that enhance customer experience and revenue growth.
• Providing strategic financial insight to support pricing, product development, and commercial negotiations.
• Driving continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting, and decision support tools.
• Developing and mentoring a high-performing finance team that delivers analytical excellence and business partnership.
• Representing Finance in cross-functional forums to ensure alignment between financial objectives and operational delivery.

• Extensive experience in senior finance leadership roles within complex, customer-focused organisations.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial insight into strategic action.
• Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving cross-functional collaboration.
• Expertise in financial planning, analysis, and performance management.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with a focus on developing teams and fostering collaboration.

Ideally, you'll also have:

• Experience in the aviation, transport, or large-scale infrastructure sectors.
• Background in customer or commercial finance with exposure to pricing and revenue optimisation.
• Strong understanding of digital transformation and data-driven decision-making in finance.
