About The Role

A rapidly growing maritime technology company developing and deploying mission-ready autonomous and uncrewed systems for real-world operations. The team works across autonomous vessels, mission systems, command & control, sensors, and edge computing.

At the centre of the platform is a common autonomy architecture connecting sensors, autonomy software, payloads, and command-and-control systems across multiple maritime platforms.

The Role

\n

We are seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to develop the core software platform supporting autonomous maritime systems. This is a hands-on role focused on production C++ software, distributed systems, networking, system interfaces, and control arbitration running on physical products within the air and marine space.

\n

You will work across software, autonomy, networking, and hardware boundaries, taking systems from development through deployment and field operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop production-grade C++ running on autonomous maritime platforms.
\n
• Build distributed services designed for constrained edge environments.
\n
• Contribute to core platform architecture deployed across multiple autonomous fleets.
\n
• Design deterministic control authority and command arbitration between human operators, onboard autonomy, and external systems.
\n
• Build robust behaviour under degraded communications, conflicting inputs, and system faults.
\n
• Debug real-world issues across compute, networking, hardware, and autonomy software.
\n
• Deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve software operating in production.
\n
• Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools for prototyping, testing, debugging, and
\n
• 3–7 years of professional software engineering experience.
\n
• Strong C++ development experience.
\n
• Experience with distributed systems, APIs, networking, and software architecture.
\n
• Familiarity with robotics, autonomy, UxV, or other cyber-physical systems.
\n
• Experience developing or debugging software on physical hardware.
\n
• Strong systems-level debugging and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Experience using AI-assisted software development tools.
