Electrical Engineer

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering renewable energy and power infrastructure projects across the UK.

Working on a range of energy and utility schemes, you will support the design, development and delivery of electrical engineering solutions from initial concept through to construction, commissioning and project handover. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver electrical engineering solutions across a range of infrastructure and energy projects.
• Produce and review electrical designs, calculations, technical specifications and reports.
• Coordinate with project teams, contractors and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.
• Carry out electrical studies and technical assessments.
• Support site surveys, inspections, testing and commissioning activities.
• Review supplier and contractor documentation for technical compliance.
• Provide technical input during project planning, procurement and delivery stages.
• Assist in identifying and resolving engineering issues throughout project lifecycles.

Electrical Studies & Analysis

• Cable sizing calculations.
• Load flow studies.
• Fault level and short-circuit analysis.
• Protection coordination studies.
• Arc flash assessments.
• Earthing design and analysis.
• Network modelling and technical reporting.

What We're Looking For

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum three years' experience in electrical engineering design.
• Experience within power, utilities, infrastructure, industrial or renewable energy environments.
• Knowledge of electrical studies, power systems and engineering calculations.
• Experience producing technical design documentation and reports.
• Strong understanding of relevant engineering standards and regulations.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Software proficency

Desirable Experience

• Renewable energy, utility, power system or infrastructure project experience.
• Grid connection, substation or energy storage exposure.
• Experience using electrical design and analysis software.
• Professional membership or progress towards chartership.
• Previous experience supporting junior engineers.
