Quick Overview
Job Description
Location: New York, NY
Work Model: Onsite
Industry: Legal technology
Compensation: Up to $150K base, up to $220K OTE
About the Company
Our partner is a seed-funded legal technology company building time-tracking software for law firms. Their product automatically captures billable activity, drafts the time entries, and pushes them into the firm's billing system, saving attorneys roughly an hour a week of administrative work and surfacing meaningfully more billable time than manual tracking. They have been in market for more than two years, win the vast majority of their pilots, have never lost a customer, and have grown revenue sixfold since their raise. Nearly half of new business arrives through customer referrals. The small team works in person in downtown Manhattan, with go-to-market and engineering side by side.
The Opportunity
This is the company's first dedicated growth hire. Their strongest acquisition channels today are paid advertising, conferences, and affiliate and referral programs, and much of that foundation is already partly built. They are looking for one person to take ownership of all of it and carry it the rest of the way.
It is a hands-on, individual-contributor seat with no direct reports and a flat line to the founding team. You will work closely with leadership and across sales and engineering, own the numbers behind every channel, and have the room to shape how growth works as the company scales.
Responsibilities
- Own every growth channel end to end: paid social, conferences and events, affiliate and partnership programs, and customer referrals
- Run paid advertising on Meta and LinkedIn, managing the existing agency relationship or bringing the work in-house
- Build out and scale the affiliate, partnership and customer referral engines
- Set and track the metrics behind each channel, including cost per click, referral economics and pipeline contribution
- Diagnose what is and is not working in each channel and reallocate spend accordingly
- Use AI tools to scale execution, including lighter-weight work such as search optimization
- Partner with the sales and engineering teams and report on growth performance to the founders
Requirements
- 4-7 years of growth marketing experience, ideally at an early-stage startup
- Direct, hands-on ownership of Meta and LinkedIn paid advertising with measurable results
- Experience building or running affiliate, partnership and customer referral programs
- Strong command of marketing metrics and the ability to work through numbers on the spot
- A track record of owning channels and a pipeline number at a B2B company
- Clear, professional writing and the credibility to engage a professional-services audience
- Willingness to do tactical, hands-on work without a team to delegate to
- Conference or event marketing experience is a plus
- Able to work onsite in New York City Monday through Friday
